In late 2005, MAXNET (Angola’s
first Wimax Internet Service Provider) was established in Luanda.
We evaluated several types of equipment before deciding on Alvarion’s
Breezemax technology to roll out our network in Angola said ITA Technical
Director Rolf Mendelsohn. BreezeMAX PRO was the first commercially
available subscriber unit to use the new Intel WiMAX chip, which was a
major industry milestone in moving toward the widespread adoption of WiMAX
standard products.
As a complete WiMAX-ready solution, Alvarion's BreezeMAX offers the market a
superior mix of price and performance, while enhancing operators' business
models with seamless operation in large deployments. "We were pleased
to be one of the first ISP in Africa to trial the BreezeMAX PRO CPE,"
said Rolf Mendelsohn (Technical Director of ITA)
We set up our ISP Backbone in 2005 using Alvarion BreezeMAX technology. We
are able to serve large enterprises, SOHOs and residential users, all from
the same base station and benefit from the improved performance and
economics of this system."
